Academic Success Planner

The time that you spend in high school is one of the most critical periods in your life. It is a time for preparing yourself for the educational endeavors that you will experience after graduation. It is a time to prepare yourself for a career that will be satisfying for you throughout your lifetime. It is also a time to begin molding your character and becoming the person who you want to be. The high school experience is one that should be cherished and enjoyed. We encourage every Cienega High School student to spend some time planning how to get the most out of the time you spend with us. You should aim to set goals regarding your academic success above all, but also take advantage of the opportunities given to you to develop other aspects of your character. We encourage every student to become involved with some type of extracurricular activity. We also want every student to take the highest level class available and in accord with their abilities. Students should relish the opportunity to be challenged by honors, concurrent or advance placement classes.  Student should also take the risk of running for a student council office or joining a new club where you don’t know any of the current members. We offer a diverse selection of electives and encourage students to develop and expand on areas of interest.

This condensed version of the academic planner handbook, sorted by grade level, should serve as a guide to planning your academic success. Regardless of what you plan to do after your high school graduation, this portion of the handbook contains information that can assist you in preparing for that transition. Each student will have specific needs that should be discussed on an individual basis. Take the time to talk with your teachers and your counselor about the goals you would like to achieve in high school and those you would like to establish for your future.
